Terry Winters and Iam McKeevers both have a style of drawing and painting, where the image has a direct graphic relationship to the shape of the page from the begining. This is the first layer of choices and then each subsequent layer (of choices) remains visible and intact.
Repeating things is good. The first time, students take in the information. They muddle through and get the rudiments. The second time around, they have mastery and begin to put these ideas to use. This is true of practical, technical things, as well as theory and design. Repetition is good for me as well. I did a similar lesson a few days ago with a different group.
